PCW~CWC Home Décor Blog Hop

Welcome to Paper Crafting World (http://www.papercraftingworld.com) and Cooking With Cricut’s (http://www.cookingwithcricut.com) Home Décor Blog Hop!  Our Design Teams are so excited to bring you a two-day hop that focuses on projects for your home – that’s right no cards or scrapbook layouts in this hop!  You should have arrived here from visiting Jennie B at http://www.javajencreations.blogspot.com/  .  If you’ve joined us in mid-Hop and would like to check out all the other fantastic projects head on over Melinda’s Paper Crafting World   (http://www.cookingwithcricut.com) and start at the beginning.

For my Home Décor project I decided to make a decorated box for my big bling rings. They were all over my bathroom counter and getting dusty and that just won't do!! I bought the box at Wal~Mart in the stationary section for $5.00.

This is the view from the side. I used the Storybook Cartridge for the decorations.
I added some rhinestone flowers and black diamond stickles to make it blingy on the outside.
Here are all my big bling rings!  I cut pieces of quilt batting to make it soft for my rings to lay on! Now it is sitting on my dresser and all my pretties are safe from dust ;)

We hope you’ll link up your Home Décor project for a chance at winning one of our giveaways.  One winner will be chosen by random draw and three others will be selected by the Design Team.  Head on over to Cooking With Cricut  (http://www.cookingwithcricut.com) for the guidelines and the link up.

Thanks for stopping by!  Head on over and check out what Michelle at  http://www.michelles-crafty-creations.blogspot.com/ has cooked up!

Cooking With Cricut #81 Card Outreach

This week our challenge over at Cooking With Cricut was to create thinking of you cards for 6 year old Emily and 13 year old Patty. Both of these little girls are battling cancer.

I took a 6x12 inch strip of paper and cut it at angles to make the card. Then I scored it at 4 and 8 inches to make it fold up.  I cut the girls names using storybook shadow at 2 inches.  I also used storybook to cut the purple scalloped circles.

Hope this brightens their day!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cooking With Cricut #80 Easter Theme

For this challenge I chose to make these cute little Easter Baskets for my nieces and nephews on my husbands side! We are all going to be together this weekend for the first time in 2 years!  So EGG~CITED ;) hehe

I cut the baskets with Plantin school book. The pink baskets were cut at 12 1/2. The blue baskets were cut at 6 1/4.

I cut the bunnies at 3 1/2 and then used my pink gel pen and my black pen to accent the faces.

Cooking With Cricut #77

This week the challenge was to make something with a St. Patrick's Day theme or with rainbows. I remembered these pictures and had to use them! Here is what I came up with:
I used the Create a Critter cartridge for the cloud, the umbrella, rainy day title, and the rainbow. I cut them all at 4 inches.
Some people feel the rain, others just get wet. Bob Marley
If you want to see the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain.

Cooking With Cricut Challenge # 76

I was chosen to be a Design Team Member over at Cooking With Cricut!!  My very first project as a member of a Design Team!!  WOW!!! So Exciting!!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! Read Across America.
Our first Team Challenge was to share a project featuring our favorite Dr. Seuss book or a project that encouraged reading.

What better way to encourage reading then with a cute bookmark to put in your favorite book?!?!?

I cut the book mark from the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge at size 4 inches.

Here is a close up of the poem and the tassle. I bought the tassle in the yarn clearance section of Hobby Lobby, I got 2 of them for $.89. Love a Bargain!
The girl book worm is a digi stamp from Paper Crafting World. I colored her with my colored pencils and then outlined her with my purple star dust pen for some sparkle
I outlined the Seuss Trees, which are also from Paper Crafting World, with Lavendar and Lagoon Stickles to make them pop off the page.

Thanks for stopping by!

Liebster Blog Award!!!

Kimmie over at Impressively Yours Gifts chose me for the Liebster Blog Award!! THANK YOU!!! Check out her blog and become a follower, I am in LOVE with her glasses!! TOO COOL!

The origins of the Liebster Blog Award are unclear but the word translates from German as "darling" or "beloved". It's given to bloggers who have less than 200 followers in order to generate some traffic for them.

Here are the guidelines for the Liebster Blog Award
1. Acknowledge the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.

2. Give this award to 5 other bloggers, who must have less than 200 followers, and let them know through a comment on their blog.

3. Post the award on your blog

4. Best of all- bask in the glory, have fun, and share the love!

Okay, now to the best part! Here are the Five blogs I have chosen to receive this award:

#1 My momma (AKA Me~Ma Kim) is #1 because I never would have started scrapping if she hadn't introduced me to it. She gave me my whole life in a scrapbook album when I turned 16, because she couldn't afford to give me a car! I still have my scrapbooks and my first car is in a junk yard somewhere! She makes amazing layouts and I am envious of her talent!

#2 Jaime over at Scrap Queen I have been following her for awhile and I just LOVE her style! She shares my love of pink and black combos!

#3 Natt over at Awesomeness of Crafting
I just became a follower of Natt and I adore the clean fresh look to her projects!

#4 Karan, I just love her designs, She totally rocks the layered look!! I am in awe because when I try to do this it just looks like a hot mess!

#5 The Scrappings of Sue I just love her style, and she happens to have great taste in her choice of blog design! hehehehe

Purple Cows Color Challenge

The challenge was to make a project using the colors purple, white, and black! Purple Cows posted inspiration photos and I got my idea from this one:

I had a lot of fun with this project!  Here is my take:

I decided to keep my design very simple because the zebra print stands alone lol.

~The zebra print paper is from Paper Studio and was inspired by the rug in the pic.
~The Swirly Heart Flourish is from Paper Crafting World
Love their cute files!! It was inspired by the swirly material in the chairs.
~The Bling on the flourishes is from my stash and was inspired by the top of the tables!

Crafty Friends Who Care Blog Hop~Day 1

Welcome to the Crafty Friends Give Blog Hop.
We are so glad you could join us for Day 1 of this very special hop. The mission of this blog hop is to raise awareness about bone marrow donations to help Leukemia patients.

Bone marrow donation technology has come a long way, and is now as simple as giving blood. So we are trying to raise awareness and get people to register at http://marrow.org to be a bone marrow donor. And why are we doing this your might ask? To help a friend a fellow crafter, Liz Decade. Liz is battling 2 different forms of acute Leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. We are hoping that this hop will help her to find a match. You can see her story at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va6RNwYj4BE&list=UUz-JkPSKRldHJNbbEotv8DQ&feature=plcp.

Even if you are not a match for Liz, you can still help her. You see bone marrow registrations drives are expensive, you have to pay for each person who is registered, and Liz is trying to raise money for bone marrow drives and medical expenses (it costs a lot of money to get a transplant). You can donate to Liz at lizquesada.leukemia@gmail.com. All of the money donated will go to bone marrow drives or medical expenses.

And we have some wonderful sponsors who have donated prizes for our hop.
Our sponsors have all donated prizes to this hop. In order to be eligible for one of  these prizes you must comment on every blog in this hop! There are other requirements for the sponsors so please see Liz's blog post for more details.

If you are coming from Ashley's Blog, you are right on track. If you just came across my blog and would like to hop along, please start over with Liz (http://decadeofscrap.blogspot.com)

We had to go with a friend or thinking of you theme. I chose to make a wall hanging for my best friend, Nikki. We are so much alike that it is scary at times! The quote I chose fits us perfectly!!

 Recipe

I cut out a 5 inch Zebra Print circle (Paper Studio ooh! La! La! Stack)
Then I gathered the pink ribbon onto the edge of it.
I cut the Flower Frame out with Make The Cut. I went around the edge with my star dust pen.
The quote I printed out using Corel Draw and Harrington font.
The flowers and bling centers were from my stash!

It was very simple and easy to make! The funny part is that my friend Nikki was hanging out with me in my scrap room while I made it! Her favorite colors are black and pink and she was in love with it!! She will be so excited when I give it to her LOL! I fibbed and made her think I had to give it away to someone! :)

Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to go to http://www.marrow.org and find out how to become a marrow donor.

Your next stop is Leslie's Blog.

Pink Cricut What are You up to? & My Challenge......

http://www.pinkcricut.com/2012/01/to-3/

I am teaching a class for some local scrapbooking gals and they wanted to do a valentine's day layout. So here is what I came up with!

I thought it turned out pretty cute!! I must say once again that I will be very glad when I get a better camera because mine is taking some VERY bad pictures!!

Left side:
 Right Side:

I designed the rosebuds, mailbox, title, and envelopes on MTC. The hearts are the CM heart punch.

Across the world wide web today scrapbookers and paper cafters are challenging them selves to create a Project A Day!!  There are groups that you can pay to join but thought it would be fun just to gather up my friends to challenge ourselves to do this. So I started a Facebook Group so that we could upload our creations and inspire each other to do a layout or paper project everyday in February. You can find it here if you would like to give it a try!

http://www.facebook.com/groups/247728348636280/

We would love to have you!!

Glamorous Side Of Scrapping Challenge

Clean and Simple Sunday Week 4
http://theglamoroussideofscrapping.blogspot.com/2012/01/clean-simple-sunday-week-4challenge.html

The challenge was to:

1.  Must be a new card, no backlinking.
2.  Clean & Simple with a Valentine theme.
3.  Must mention the challenge in your post.
4.  Must link up your card using the Linky below.

So here is what I came up with:
I made the ribbon rose. It and the ribbon strip across the bottom are Hobby Lobby Ribbon. The little frame is Colorbok glitter white chipboard accents. The love sentiment is from the Imaginisce To Love & Cherish Collection. I stamped it in embossing ink and then sprinkled Ranger Red Embossing Tinsel over it.

It only took me 15 minutes to make this card!!  Give it a try!
You will have until Saturday, February 4 at Noon EST to link up.

Did I mention there was a prize?!?!?

Baby Announcements and Altered Boxes

Pink Cricut Linky Party http://www.pinkcricut.com/2012/01/to-link-party/

My number one priority has been making 100 baby announcements for my niece who arrived on December 27. It took me 2 days to get everything cut out and 2 more to get them all together! I learned that I do NOT like reproducing the same thing 100 times!!

Here is the announcement:

I also stopped to make a box for one of my friends. Her boyfriend's birthday was Wednesday and she asked me to make something.

These were gun cleaning kits that had been slightly damaged and our local thrift store was selling the empty boxes for dirt cheap so I got a BUNCH of them. I figured they might just come in handy and they have!! I also made another one for another friend that came to visit for the week. This is how it turned out!!

I am also still trying to get everything organized just right in my new scrap room and my hubby bought and put up 3 new shelves for me to store more of my stuff on! Gosh I love him!! Here are my new shelves!

Today I am going to join my momma in a cyber scrap session! I am SOOO excited! I spent about an hour last night looking around for some fun challenges and sketches to inspire me!! I hope to get several pages done!!

Thanks for popping in!
Have a Scrappy Happy Day!!

Ribbon Organization and A project!

I started out my day with a trip to momma's house to pick up some more of my scrap stuff cause I still have odds and ends left there. When I got back home my first order of business was to get my ribbon organized because it was SUCH a mess the way it was!

BEFORE

Here it is looking MUCH better, totally organized, and easy to use!

AFTER

These were containers that I bought at a garage sale for dirt cheap, they were made to hold Beanie Babies. I used my crop-a-dile to punch holes in the sides and put in a large eyelet, then I fed the ribbon through! Easy Peasy! I can just pull the amount that I need out and cut it off!

After I finished my organization project I decided to treat myself to doing a project! I got a clear block from Hobby Lobby a few months ago for 50% off. After much deliberation I finally chose what I wanted to put on it!

Frosted glass is IMPOSSIBLE to photograph!! WOW!! It says "With Imagination,
Possibilities Become Limitless" I think it turned out really cool!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a scrappy happy day!!
