Today starts Day 1 of my Project A Day challenge! Everyday in February I am going to do get a Layout done! At least I hope to!! I'm going to try my hardest! I hopped over to Frosted Designs for some inspiration!

Here is my take on it!

All the patterned paper is from the My Minds Eye Delightfully Simple stack. I designed the title and flower in MTC.

Pink Cricut What are You up to? & My Challenge......

I am teaching a class for some local scrapbooking gals and they wanted to do a valentine's day layout. So here is what I came up with!

I thought it turned out pretty cute!! I must say once again that I will be very glad when I get a better camera because mine is taking some VERY bad pictures!!

I designed the rosebuds, mailbox, title, and envelopes on MTC. The hearts are the CM heart punch.

Across the world wide web today scrapbookers and paper cafters are challenging them selves to create a Project A Day!! There are groups that you can pay to join but thought it would be fun just to gather up my friends to challenge ourselves to do this. So I started a Facebook Group so that we could upload our creations and inspire each other to do a layout or paper project everyday in February. Glamorous Side Of Scrapping Challenge

The challenge was to:

1. Must be a new card, no backlinking.

2. Clean & Simple with a Valentine theme.

3. Must mention the challenge in your post.

So here is what I came up with:

I made the ribbon rose. It and the ribbon strip across the bottom are Hobby Lobby Ribbon. The little frame is Colorbok glitter white chipboard accents. The love sentiment is from the Imaginisce To Love & Cherish Collection. I stamped it in embossing ink and then sprinkled Ranger Red Embossing Tinsel over it.

It only took me 15 minutes to make this card!! Give it a try!

Baby Announcements and Altered Boxes

My number one priority has been making 100 baby announcements for my niece who arrived on December 27. It took me 2 days to get everything cut out and 2 more to get them all together! I learned that I do NOT like reproducing the same thing 100 times!!

Here is the announcement:

I also stopped to make a box for one of my friends. Her boyfriend's birthday was Wednesday and she asked me to make something.

These were gun cleaning kits that had been slightly damaged and our local thrift store was selling the empty boxes for dirt cheap so I got a BUNCH of them. I figured they might just come in handy and they have!! I also made another one for another friend that came to visit for the week. This is how it turned out!!

I am also still trying to get everything organized just right in my new scrap room and my hubby bought and put up 3 new shelves for me to store more of my stuff on! Gosh I love him!! Here are my new shelves!

Today I am going to join my momma in a cyber scrap session! I am SOOO excited! I spent about an hour last night looking around for some fun challenges and sketches to inspire me!! I hope to get several pages done!!

Ribbon Organization and A project!

I started out my day with a trip to momma's house to pick up some more of my scrap stuff cause I still have odds and ends left there. When I got back home my first order of business was to get my ribbon organized because it was SUCH a mess the way it was!

Here it is looking MUCH better, totally organized, and easy to use!

AFTER

These were containers that I bought at a garage sale for dirt cheap, they were made to hold Beanie Babies. I used my crop-a-dile to punch holes in the sides and put in a large eyelet, then I fed the ribbon through! Easy Peasy! I can just pull the amount that I need out and cut it off!

After I finished my organization project I decided to treat myself to doing a project! I got a clear block from Hobby Lobby a few months ago for 50% off. After much deliberation I finally chose what I wanted to put on it!

Frosted glass is IMPOSSIBLE to photograph!! WOW!! It says "With Imagination,
Possibilities Become Limitless" I think it turned out really cool!!

First Project of the New Year! GIVEAWAY

My first project of the New Year in my brand new happy scrappy place was a holder for the most important scrapbooking tool known to scrappers across the country (well the ones I know anyway)! What is this very important tool you ask??

CHOCOLATE!!

Who in the world can scrap without it? (NO one I know lol) I realized as I was sitting in my scrap room last night that my scrap room did not contain this very important tool, so I ran to Wal~Mart this morning and purchased some. When it came time to place it in a very easily accessible place, I couldn't find a basket! GASP!! But never fear, I am a pretty crafty gal and I know how to make boxes! So I sat down and whipped one up real quick!! I feel calories do not count when its used to power the brain for the creativity that scrapbooking demands. (I'm not a doctor or anything, but it works for me) That's why I call it brain food! Really helps out with that no calories thing! So it was pretty simple to make, I just followed the directions on my Martha Stewart scoreboard for the 7x7x2 1/2 box. A 12x12 piece of double sided paper, scored at 2 1/2 and 9 1/2 on both sides. Then I made the title in Make The Cut. I glued the it all together and then put waterfall stickles on the words to make them sparkly!!GIVEAWAY

New Year, New Start, Lots of Changes.

2011 ended on a sad note with the closing of the Scrapbook Store where I was the manager. I was there almost everyday, making projects, meeting crafty people, teaching classes, and having a blast. It was a very sad week saying goodbye to our loyal customers and having the last class that we would ever hold.

So I had to decide what I wanted to be "when I grow up?".........

I decided that I wanted to spend more time at home and that I wanted to continue teaching scrapbook projects, because I love it!! I moved all my scrapbook stuff home today and created a new happy place in my own house! I am going to keep teaching classes at a local craft store when I can. I have also been asked to teach a couple classes for some of my customers from the store. I also plan to make some crafty things and sell them at some local craft stores. I NEED to spend some time working on actual scrapbook pages for my own albums!! All this has lead me to the answer to the question above.........

When I grow up, I want to be exactly what I am right now!!

I will stay at home, scrap, create, teach, and spend more time with my family!!!!

So here's to a New Year with new challenges, trials, and rewards!! As my idol Tim Holtz says: Enjoy the Journey!! and that is EXACTLY what I am going to do!!

My take on the Guest Design Team Challenge. I used Coredinations pink paper as the base, then used TPC Design Studio Girlfriends paper for the rest. I designed the title Sisters on Corel Draw using Harrington font. I added the bling ribbon from my stash. The journaling at the bottom says: I smile because you are my sister, I laugh because there is nothing you can do about it!!

I love using black and pink combinations!!! I had so much fun with the circle in this layout!! This was taken outside Isle of Cari Casino in Booneville MO, where I went to gamble for the first time. I used Kraft and Bright colors
Followed the recipe:
This week's recipe is to include:
1) 3 Different Patterned papers, SAME manufacturer if possible
2) A tag
3) An UNCOLORED stamped image
4) RED ribbon(s)
5) Something lime green
and used the sketch, although I did get some inspiration from Leah and turned the sketch on its side!!!!!

Boy was this challenging, but I had a blast using it!
Will definitely be doing the Trifecta again!!

This challenge comes from the lovely ladies over at Design Dollies. This was my first challenge using a Recipe. Here were the instructions:

This week's recipe is to include:
1) 3 Different Patterned papers, SAME manufacturer if possible
2) A tag
3) An UNCOLORED stamped image
4) RED ribbon(s)
5) Something lime green

I chose:
1) DCWV blossoms and butterflies
2) the tag I cut out with my cricut using Plantin schoolbook
3) I stamped my flower with black ink and traced it with picket fence stickles.
4) I used red ribbon on the tag
5) I matted my pics with lime green paper.

I had so much fun with this challenge. Nothing like a little inspiration to help you complete some pages.

This is the first time I have ever made a blog. I am going through this undertaking as a way to inspire myself to get scrapping again. Mom has had some luck motivating herself to do pages by following sketches posted on various blogs. I hope to do the same. I love to scrapbook, but have found myself procrastinating on getting going again. Going from a full time stay at home mom for 7 years to full time employee for the last two years has made me very behind in all my albums. I used to be fairly caught up. Ahhhhh and to think I used to say I was bored!!!! If only I could be bored again LOL. So here goes nothing! Special thanks to my live in Computer genius husband. As I was starting to feel overwhelmed by all the stuff I needed to add to my blog, he stepped in and took over. He is currently working on the picture that I wanted for my header. He is also a bit of a perfectionist, so I won't tell you how many pictures he has taken on my camera, to get that perfect shot. I KNOW it will look wonderful when he is done!
